Refund Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Boon gift cards are prepaid digital products. Once a card has been delivered and redeemed by the recipient, it carries real spendable balance, which is why we treat refunds carefully. The short version is: before redemption, we can refund; after redemption, we generally can’t. The longer version follows.
What is refundable
Before the gift is delivered
If you contact us before the recipient receives the email (or before you receive it, for self-delivery), we will refund the full purchase amount including the platform fee. In practice, this window is very short — delivery typically happens within seconds of payment.
After delivery, before redemption
If the recipient has not yet redeemed the code, we will refund the face value of the card. The platform fee (which covered payment processing, email delivery, and key provisioning) is non-refundable. Refunding the card revokes the redemption link, so the recipient should not redeem in the meantime.
Failure of the service
If we are unable to deliver the gift card due to a problem on our side (failed mint, failed email, prolonged outage), we will issue a full refund including the platform fee, or — at your option — re-issue the gift at no additional cost.
What is not refundable
- Cards that have been redeemed. Once the recipient has revealed the API key, the balance is theirs to spend; we cannot retract spent tokens.
- Cards that have been partially used. The unused balance remains available to the recipient until exhausted or revoked.
- The platform fee on cards that have already been delivered (whether or not redeemed), unless the inability to deliver was our fault.
- Cards revoked for fraud, abuse, or chargeback under our Terms of Service.
How to request a refund
Email support@boon.gifts from the email you used to purchase, with the gift code or Stripe receipt number handy. We will respond within two business days. Approved refunds typically appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank rather than contacting us first, we may dispute it with evidence of delivery and redemption. We’d much rather you reach out — chargebacks on already-redeemed gifts can result in the recipient’s card being revoked, and we’d rather solve the problem directly.
